2009 in a nutshell

I had no idea that I had not updated our blog since last Christmas. I guess it is time for an update.


January

We went to Alabama with Frank since he had to go to SOS for 5 weeks and had just gotten home a week before that. The girls and I spent one week in Houston to see family there. This is when I decided I would not travel alone with the girls for quite a while. It was a nice time, but we were ready to get home and start a routine.


February

Early February was nice and quiet. We worked on getting the girls on a good routine. We were also adjusting to having Frank home and getting ready for our vacation. At the end of the month we went on a 12 day cruise with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Catherine. We went to Morocco, Spain, Italy, Funchal, and the Canary Islands. It was a great time!


March

We got back from our cruise the first week of March. Frank left 2 weeks later to go back to Bahrain. It was just the girls and I again. At this time I decided to go back to school to do school counseling. Since I already have a degree in counseling, I only needed a few more classes.


April

This month was all about school. Kaitlynn went back to preschool, Christianna started a Mothers Day Out and I started my classes. We also had lots of fun Easter things to do. The girls went to 3 different Easter Egg hunts. We spent Easter Sunday at our neighbor's house with all our good friends.


May

This month was busy, especially the last half. Flights from Houston were cheap, so Jaime and Mary decided to take a quick trip out here. They came one day and then, Frank came home the next day. I did not tell the girls that he was coming. Kaitlynn was very excited to see him, but Christianna cried! That weekend we headed to Keukenhof to see the tulips. We were supposed to meet Jaime and Mary in Amsterdam, but had a hard time coordinating schedules. We ended the month with Kaitlynn's very first dance recital. She was a flower fairy.


June

The standard 3 weeks were over, so it was time for Frank to leave again. Other than that, not too much was going on around here.


July

July was a hectic month. The girls were out of school for the summer, so I tried to keep us busy with different activities. Both girls were in tumbling and a kids fun fitness class. Kaitlynn continued swim lessons also. At the end of the month, we headed to see what Bahrain is all about. This was his last trip, so we decided to spend his last two weeks there with him. It was very interesting. I'll have to expand on that more later.


August

We all came home the second week of August. Luckily his work schedule was not too hectic since the office was shutting down. We took advantage of having him around more and finally took care of some projects around the house. This month was exciting since phase 1 and 2 of the KMCC finally opened. The last day of the month marked the girls going back to school!


September

September has been another busy month for us. Frank started his new job the first week. A couple days later the Dabney's came out for their annual trip. We went on some day trips, and one weekend trip also. It was a great time. Kaitlynn has a new BFF. After they left, Frank spent the week in Spain. The final phase of the KMCC was completed this week as well. We now have a decent BX. After checking it out almost daily, we had to take him to see it as well. Hopefully the last few days of this month will be quiet. I need a break!
